Recognize. Refuse. Respond.
Take the pledge. Resist scapegoating. Stand for dignity.
Blame travels fast these days. Online, in our communities, even around our dinner tables — it's become easy to divide the world into "us" and "them." Them becomes the other political party, another race, religion, nationality or generation — anyone who feels different enough to carry our frustration.
But something in us knows this isn't who we want to be.
No Scapegoats exists to help us choose a different path — to recognize scapegoating when we see it, refuse it when it tempts us, and respond with empathy, truth, and courage.
We do this through storytelling, collaboration, and shared action — highlighting people and organizations choosing dignity over division, and offering tools to help you do the same.
This is a movement for anyone who believes we can do better. For anyone ready to step out of the blame game. For anyone who understands the world can only change when we choose empathy over finger pointing.
You're invited. Dive into our resources. Take the pledge. Stand with us. Choose a story where everyone's dignity matters.
Scapegoating isn't just another wrong among many… It is the common denominator beneath most of the harm we inflict on one another — the lie that some deserve less dignity than we demand for ourselves.
Before we can justify lying, cheating, stealing, killing, or excluding, we first convince ourselves that someone else is less worthy — less deserving, less like "us." At times, these behaviors grow out of desperation, but more often they are socialized into us, reinforced by a culture that tells us some lives matter more than others…
That's why scapegoating is so destructive: it is the mechanism that justifies all wrongs and leaves lasting wounds. When we refuse scapegoating — in our homes, our communities, our politics, and our faith — we cut off the root system that feeds division, injustice, cruelty and indifference. It doesn't erase differences. But it honors our shared humanity and insists that dignity cannot be rationed to a select few.
Change starts with looking in the mirror, asking how we play into the blame game and daring to do differently. It grows as we learn from mentors and voices leading the way. It deepens when we choose to speak up instead of staying silent. And it takes root when we join our voices with others to challenge scapegoating wherever it appears.
That is how movements grow. Not in one leap, but through courage, community, and conviction — ordinary people refusing the oldest lie and choosing understanding instead.
At the heart of the movement
~ is a simple pledge ~
to live differently
by breaking free from the blame game.
"I pledge to resist the lie that some people deserve less dignity than I expect for myself. I will not scapegoat individuals or groups for my pain, anger, failures, or fears. I will take responsibility for my actions, seek understanding over blame, and strive for peace in my relationships, community, and world."

👉 Learn How We Collaborate
No Scapegoats began with one person's conviction that there had to be a better way.
Lynora Bayless, raised in a family of faith, saw how the teachings of Jesus stood against scapegoating — yet also saw how often people of faith and communities of conscience still fall into the trap of blame. She felt compelled to start the conversation about how to resist blame in a culture drowning in it; to build bridges where most only draw lines, and to create a movement that would foster a way of living that refuses scapegoats, and chooses compassion, understanding, and shared responsibility.
We don't just want to raise awareness — we want to equip you. These tools are designed to help you take this message forward in your own circles.
